The 9th National Alternative Process Competition exhibit opens today at the SohoPhoto Gallery in New York City, and three of my images were chosen for inclusion.
Since this was my first public entry into the world of fine art photography and alternative process printing, I will admit I was fairly pleased with myself.
Jill Enfield, the juror, selected a ziatype of some windowpanes in the building of the former KGB headquarters in Vilnius, Lithuania, a tintype of my friend Emily and her daughter Lola, and, perhaps most gratifying, a tri-color gum portrait of my friend/colleague Brian, which I had originally captured on my iPad, processed on the iPad with the Snapseed app, then printed in gum in the wet lab.
