I just happened to be in Rockland as locals were starting to build the Lobster Trap Christmas Tree, so I made a few photos!
Locals add another row of lobster traps to the annual tree, which Rockland claims is the largest such structure in the world.
One of the tree builders helps steady a colleague.
Gordon Page, Executive Director of Rockland Main Street, Inc., helps direct the tree’s construction from within the structure.
Page climbs out from the center of the tree, bemused that I happened to be standing there with my camera clicking away.
Of course there will be a lobster on top of the tree to hold the crowning star.
